The Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s School of Design & Environment has rolled out a new micro-learning course that enables property agents to refresh their knowledge on the Code of Ethics and Professional Client Care (CEPCC) through learning content delivered via a mobile device application.

This new approach of e-learning was adopted to suit the lifestyles of property agents who are often on-the-go, allowing agents to access bite-sized content conveniently even when they are on the move.

The content for this course, “Real Estate Professional Series - Code of Ethics and Professional Client Care”, was developed by Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s academics with input from practitioners and trainers from the real estate agency industry.

It is the first course to be delivered through an e-learning module on a mobile, micro-learning app that offers core Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit hours.

What are the topics included in the course?

The course covers CEPCC topics including:

  • Compliance with real estate laws, practice circulars, and guidelines
  • Duty to clients in relation to signing of documents
  • Obligation in respect of agreements
  • Compliance with law and statutory requirements
  • Conveying offers and counter offers to clients
  • Safeguarding of confidential information, and more

The above content will be covered over seven bite-sized lessons of 25 minutes each.

To reinforce knowledge and enable learners to apply what they have learnt in their day-to-day work, the course will feature case studies adapted from disciplinary cases relating to the CEPCC.

The course takes a purely e-learning approach, and content can be accessed anytime, anywhere, via a mobile, micro-learning app, called Gnowbe.

Is there an assessment component in this course?

There is an assessment component at the end of each lesson, in which learners are required to respond to multi-choice and true/false questions.

To successfully complete the course, learners will be required to answer 80 per cent of the assessment questions correctly. Learners will be allowed to attempt the assessment multiple times.

After registering for the course, learners have a period of three months to complete the course. This enables learners to chart their own learning pace.

Will I receive any CPD credits if I complete the course?

You will receive two CPD core (C1) credit hours for successfully completing the course.

From 1 October 2019, under the new CPD framework, you will receive two CPD credits under the professional competencies category when you complete this course.

How much is the course fee?

The course fee is $40. Learners who register for the course from now until 31 July 2019 can enjoy an early bird fee of $30.

How do I sign up for the course?

You can register for the course here.

Upon successful payment of the course fee, you will be directed to a Gnowbe link to register for the learning package. You will also receive an order confirmation via email. Thereafter, you may begin the course almost immediately.

How will the CPD credit hours be credited?

After successful completion of the course, simply provide your full particulars and complete the course evaluation. The core CPD credit hours will then be accorded to your CPD record.

You can also download a copy of your Certificate of Completion.
