Best practice guide for agencies

Earlier this year, a work group comprising industry professionals, industry association representatives, the Consumers Association of Singapore, CEA, and other government agencies developed a Technical Reference on management best practices for property agencies.

The Technical Reference sets out the standards to be met by property agencies in four key areas: management and culture, property agent development, operations management framework, and service delivery and customer satisfaction.

The Technical Reference document is a key initiative of the working group formed to develop a certification system for property agencies. The idea of a certification system was mooted by the industry, with the purpose of recognising property agencies with good organisation and business practices, and raising industry professionalism.

Based on feedback from the industry, the working group decided to roll out the Technical Reference as a best practice guide at this point in time to allow the industry to be familiar with its contents and provide feedback to improve to the document. The Technical Reference may be developed into a certification system in future.

We strongly encourage property agencies to implement the standards outlined in the Technical Reference. We also welcome industry professionals to give feedback on the document.

You can browse copies of the document at the National Library Board Lee Kong Chian Reference Library (Level 7) or from the computer terminals at SPRING Singapore at 1 Fusionopolis Walk, #01-02 South Tower, Solaris.

In addition, you can purchase hard and electronic copies of the reference at the Singapore Standard eShop at $14.55 (before GST).
